Do you want to know a secret that could have your driveway looking like new then carry on reading.
Concrete resurfacing is taking the driveway world by storm. If your driveway is looking dated or has cracks or is showing signs of damage and wear and tear then this hack can be the saving grace if you do not wish to have a whole new driveway replacement. Using coatings and overlays can save thousands upon thousands and we can help.
Your driveway is the first thing that people see when they visit your home or go past so you want to ensure it is looking at its best. By resurfacing you can diminish old and tired looking concrete that maybe discoloured and showing cracks. Resurfacing your concrete driveway can make it look completely brand new without the have to rip anything out. This of course saves not only time, mess but also a lot of money.
So how is it done you may ask. There is a process that needs to be followed to ensure optimum results, and it goes a bit like this;
- Any damage to the concrete will need to be repaired first of all to ensure the surface is crack free. This is done using fillers or sealers.
- The surface needs to be properly cleaned with any debris removed along with dirt and oil. This gives the perfect base for resurfacing.
- Next the surface is prepared which is done either via an acid wash, etching or grinding. The helps the bonding process.
- The overlay is then prepared and mixed adding any colours and additives at this point.
- Next the preparation is applied carefully using a trowel application. This on average takes around 24 hours to dry.
- The surface is then sealed to give the finished look.
Although the above makes the process sound pretty simple we do advise to leave to the professionals like us here at Allmix as there are things that can go wrong when resurfacing and this can cause a few hiccups along the way. For example, resurfacing in the wrong conditions can really affect the quality of the resurfacing. Not only that incorrect preparation and application can make the driveway look very unprofessional.
